Melanie Davis is a personal historian who wrote The Triumph Book: HEROES, which is a collection of first-personaccounts from veterans spanning the last 70 years, from World War II up until our current conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. As she interviewed veterans for this book, Melanie discovered that they are facing extreme challenges which our society is largely unaware of, but should be because veterans have literally been willing to put their lives on the line for us. Many veterans, our nation's real heroes, still fight battles as a result of their experiences, even after they have left the war. These stories are so interesting and profound; movies could be made of them! While they highlight the struggles of our veterans dealing with such issues as PTSD, disability, unemployment, homelessness, and veteran suicide, these stories are also full of heroism and triumph!
