The Tech sector has seen a lot of criticism of late...despite efforts to increase diversity at almost every major tech company, the percentage of traditionally under-represented talent has not increased, or has decreased. Why? What factors are inhibiting employers in the tech sector in hiring AND retaining diverse talent? As of March 2018, 95% of the tech workforce was still white and 76% of individuals holding technical positions was male. Studies have shown that diversity among teams and among leadership (gender, ethnicity) results in better results in productivity, decision-making, and overall culture. This show will focus on how to find and retain diverse talent, especially in the tech sector, with a discussion by a multi-stakeholder panel of experts and the host, Dr. Dawn Mooney Digrius, Executive Director of STEM Advantage. During our 30 minutes, we will highlight ways to locate, manage, and retain talent, especially the diverse talent you need!
