Professor Shadd Maruna, Ph.D.is Director of the Institute of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the School of Law in Queen’s University Belfast in Northern Ireland. Previously, he has been a lecturer at the University of Cambridge in England and at the University at Albany, State University of New York (USA). His book Making Good: How Ex-Convicts Reform and Rebuild Their Lives was named the Outstanding Contribution to Criminology in 2001, and in 2011 he received the inaugural Research Medal from the Howard League for Penal Reform, the UK’s oldest prison reform charity, for his research on prisoner reintegration.
