The need of on going obedience

The most important thing one can do in life is value the new life as a Christian.  Christian who go no further in their experience are like children whose parents continually celebrate their birthday but do not provide them with the nurture and training they need to become responsible adults.  John 7:38-39  ³⁸ Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”^{[a] 39} By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.
