SHIK the ARTIST
Kingdom Artist “Shik” was born and raised on Chicago’s far south side, in the Roseland Community, where dance, music, and violence were the cultural entities of her childhood. Growing up in a household packed with talent & entertainment, Shik inevitably thrived in writing short stories, plays and music. With plans of taking her talents to a greater arena, she began pursuing her first love, rap. In 1997 she wrote and recorded her first single “Let Him Go” and rapidly gained notoriety as then rapper “KM”. At the peak of a four year music career, and two albums later, Shik walked away subsequently giving her life to Jesus Christ. Now after a 13 year hiatus, Shik has zealously returned to the studio to produce & record her own album “God Banger”. With a 2015 release prospective, a fervent & tenacious Shik continues to piece together her story concerning the new LOVE of her life. By emanating a transparent relationship with Jesus, through both lifestyle & music, Shik aspires to turn the hearts of man to God.
