This Imam was ahead of the curve on many, many issues and was/is a visionary leader before and after becoming Muslim. He laid down a blueprint for cleaning up inner-city neighborhoods, reducing gang-violence and establishing (and reviving) Islamic communities.
It is imperative that the Muslim community do what ever is necessary to free the Imam from in the long term and to ensure he is getting proper medical attention in the short term.
