Anniversary Show with Gary Kilmer of APHS Drama Dept

It’s the 1 Year Anniversary of Jersey Coastal Live! Naturally I knew there was no better way to celebrate this event than to be joined by my very first guest – Gary Kilmer, drama teacher from Asbury Park High school. In addition to being the driving force for the APHS drama department, Gary has a slew of acting credentials of his own.

So what’s happening at the high school drama department right now? For starters, the kids are rehearsing for their upcoming performance of The Wiz under Gary’s direction. This musical, an adaptation based on the classic The Wizard of Oz, calls upon the talents and skills of many students and faculty members, so Gary will share some of the behind the scene information with us. A large production such as this requires, music, costumes, scenery, and of course the cast of characters. Community support is also an important part of the success of any production, so please do your part and see the show! We’ll have the opportunity to catch up with Gary and see what else is new and exciting with him and his students.
