It’s Part 2 of Elvis Week on Jersey Coastal Live! January 20 marked the 8th consecutive year of The Elvis Birthday Bash at the Count Basie Theatre. Yes, I’ve been to every single show, and this year I’m excited to have the opportunity to interview both renowned impersonators Mike Albert and Scot Bruce, who were accompanied live on stage by the Big E Band. It was an exciting evening and, as usual, the Count Basie was packed with enthusiastic Elvis fans of all ages.

Mike Albert, an unabashed Elvis fan, began entering Elvis impersonator shows in his native Ohio as a young man. He won so many that he began seriously considering being Elvis on-stage full-time. Demand for his shows increased and ultimately resulted in him putting together a seven piece Big "E" Band to duplicate the sound Elvis's band had in the Vegas shows and on the tours. Mike Albert's talent was further exposed to national audiences with an appearance on the Oprah Winfrey show and being featured in six music videos on the national television show "A Current Affair" with Maury Povich.

Mike Albert's portion of the Elvis Birthday Bash was a perfect portrayal of Presley during his later years. Mike's style and charisma and his ability to get the audience fully engaged in the show always make for an exciting evening. Audiences “can’t help falling in love” with Mike’s powerful voice and his gospel performances are spot on Elvis. It’s no wonder that Mike Albert's "Ultimate Tribute" show has become known worldwide for his respectful portrayal of the late but still great Elvis Presley. After the show, please check After Hours at Jersey Coastal Live for additional information.
