Pop culture aficionado ARLEN SCHUMER makes his debut with us to examine the last 80 years of multiple art forms.   Arlen will discuss his comic book illustrations, how he accomplishes and presents them.  We will delve into the legacy of media heroes that emerged from the early '60s like Rod Serling and James Bond.  Arlen brought his artistic eye to analyzing many of the haunting images from "The Twilight Zone" and presented his insights in his book "Visions from The Twilight Zone."  Arlen will also expound upon the early career of Bruce Springsteen and his monumental 1978 concert at the Capitol Theatre.

ARLEN SCHUMER, MFA creates award-winning comic book-styled illustrations for the advertising and editorial markets,  and is one of the foremost historians of comic book art—Comic Book Artist magazine named him "one of the more articulate and enthusiastic advocates of comic book art in America,” his coffeetable art book The Silver Age of Comic Book Art won the Independent Publishers Award for Best Popular Culture Book (http://www.silverageofcomicbookart.com), and ABC-TV's 2020 called him “one of the countryʼs preeminent authorities on comics and culture" after interviewing him (http://youtu.be/_e634FDTBaI). His other books are Visions from The Twilight Zone and The Neal Adams Sketchbook.
