Each generation has different experiences that shape attitudes, beliefs, goals and morals. From the Greatest Generation to the Silent Generation, Baby Boomers, Gen-X and now the Millennials, there will be differences that impact the workplace. The days of a lifetime career with one employer are gone. As important, Baby Boomers are working longer and three generational cultures are sharing the challenges of today’s job market and workplace. • So what makes the Millennials unique? • How do the generations interact productively in today’s workplace environment? • And how can the branding experiences of the Millennials be promoted in the workplace, without diminishing the experiential values contributed by the Boomers and Gen-X? In this 30 minute Q&A, Andrés Tapia, author of The Inclusion Paradox: The Obama Era and the Transformation of Global Diversity, will discuss the impact the Millennials will have on the workplace. "In the workplace generational diversity has become just as much an issue as gender and racial diversity." More importantly, Mr. Tapia will offer insights on how corporations can adapt to and benefit from a generation shaped by the life events of globalization, a wildly fluctuating stock market, the Iraq War, the digital revolution, and the rise of India and China. He will then wrap up by discussing how the different generations in the workplace -- the Baby Boomers, Gen-X and Millennials -- can discover the value each offers in creating winning environments that benefits all.
