We’re seeing a resurgence of interest in growing your own food, a healthy trend which allows for fresher food with more flavor.  When people grow some of their own produce, they may turn to commercially available seeds or seedlings.  However, do those seeds yield the healthiest – and even more disease-resistant – food?  Is there a place for older varieties – and will older varieties still be around in the future?  Diane Brandon, your Host and author of Intuition for Beginners, is joined this week by Janisse Ray, a Naturalist and long-time Gardener, as well as author of The Seed Underground – A Growing Revolution to Save FoodMs. Ray grew up in a rural area and has developed a concern about the variety of seeds available to us and their future.  She shares both her concerns and what we can do about the situation with us.
