Washington's Nationals took a 6-4 lead into the eighth, but Shawn Kelley gave up back-to-back home runs and in the top of the ninth, Jonathan Papelbon saw a one-out walk come around to score as the San Diego Padres took the series finale, 10-6. It was the Padres' first series win over the Nationals since May 2011 and it left the Nationals 58-41 overall on the year as they head out on the road for a two-game set with the Cleveland Indians.
