Muriella, Thanks for sharing with me on my show today. I appreciate the time you took while holding on. I've had the opportunity to view your show segments as well. Your right, we do seem to share the same thoughts. You know what they say about GREAT Minds? Blessings, Tracy http://www.talktotracybrooks.com

Change the Narrative with Therese Plair

Listen to Therese Plair, singer and storyteller who has been working for 25 years as an arts education consultant here and internationally. In the streets of New York, LA, the Congo, Haiti the eyes of children reveal they all are longing for the anchor that is tradition. Our children did not create the social blight, wars and poverty that stunts their growth and development and they are longing for us to guide them home safely. The arts is an able escort, but globally people do not honor arts unless it makes money. Our ancestors understood the value of the arts. Today, the social scientist acknowledged the power of the arts as being key to establishing emotional and intellectual stability in a child's life. So why are artists still at the door holding out a cup begging for support of this healing power? Today, I am working to create an ArtCorp putting arts and artists in the service of children wherever help is needed. Today Therese will be joined by Megan Biesele who will tell a story in Ju/'hoan, a click language of the African Kalahari, and discuss the healing power of narrative. The websites of the non-profit she directs, Kalahari Peoples Fund, are www.kalaharipeoples.net ( for arts and community networking) and www.kalaharipeoples.org. (for human rights and tax-deductible donations).
