Tonights guest is Peter Finch
Peter came to Canada in 1973 after working as a Chef in London, England after working at many
prestigious locations such as Claridges Restaurant and The Lord Mayors Residence where he
served such guests as the Queen, Frank and Nancy Sinatra and Aristola Onassis.
He migrated to Canada where he continued as an Executive Chef at venues such as The Old Mill,
Lambton Golf and Country Club, as well as Richards. Richards was a venue in Mississauga
where many singles ate and danced the night, but closed many years ago.
He also became an entrepreneur in which he created a chocolate rose business. A romantic item
that was a very special gift at Valentines.
It 1991, with his experience in the hospitality industry, he came up with the idea of singles
dances geared to the over 35 age group. It filled a void in social world where older singles could
meet and have a good time dancing the night away. His father ran dances in England for WW2
veterans giving them a place to meet and socialize. The idea of Singles Professions Network was
very similar, providing a place where people could meet one another and create a circle of
friends while having an evening out. Peter is not a matchmaker. He has simply gives older
singles an opportunity to get dressed up, look good and have a good time dancing. The rest is up
to the guests themselves. They meet face to face enjoying dancing and socializing in the old
fashion way, just as his own parents did.
For over 25 years, he has run the Single Professions Network (SPN), where older singles can
meet. SPN attracts a variety of ages, but the average is between the age of 40 and 60 years. SPN
has a website called www.singlesparties.com. as well as, a 24 hour information line at 416-236-
8222.
