’30 Rock’ co-star Grizz Chapman warns Mr. Media to check his kidneys!

"Grizz" Chapman is used to playing supporting roles, first in his earlier life as a genuine celebrity bodyguard and now in his current role as part of TracyMorgan's entourage on the Emmy award-winning NBC hit show, 30 Rock. But on October 18, Chapman took the lead at the National Kidney Foundation's NYC Kidney Walk at South Street Seaport.

Chapman, who manages to shoot 30 Rock while undergoing dialysis treatment for kidney failure three times a week, has a powerful message for the public. He urges everyone to "take care of your health even when you feel good. Especially, keep your blood pressure under control and pay attention to your urine. If it's foamy, that's not a good sign and you need to check out your kidneys."

When he ended up in the hospital, Chapman was concerned that he might be written out of the show and end up out of work. But 30 Rock producers came to visit him, assured him his job was safe and that everyone just wanted him to get better and back on the set.

Chapman is currently on the transplant waiting list and is hoping for a kidney donor soon. In the meanwhile, he's making his personal and professional life work just fine while on dialysis. Although it does affect everyone around him, he tries to keep things normal. There are days when he goes straight from dialysis to the set.

30 Rock airs every at 9:30 p.m. on NBC
