Born in Daytona Beach, FL, Charles’ family moved to Cincinnati, OH when he was three years old.  He was raised in Cincinnati where he graduated from Walnut Hills High School. Charles earned a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Cincinnati in Personnel and Industrial Relations. Charles also holds an associate degree in Computer Programming and Applications from ITT-Tech. He is working on another Bachelor’s Degree in Internet Security.
Charles is a father of two sons. His oldest son, Charles Jr, is a graduate of School for Creative and Performing Arts. Charles Jr. holds degrees in Music Production and Graphic Arts. Charles Jr. lives in Cincinnati, OH. Ralph, his second son, is also a graduate of School for Creative and Performing Arts. Ralph, who lives in Boston, MA,  holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Composition and Music Business.
He, along with Don Sherman, is one of the original members of Cincinnati Black Theatre Company. Charles currently serves as the Publicity Chairperson. Along with publicity, he also helps in writing grants and manages the data of CBTC.
 As an integral part of CBTC, Charles has been featured in several productions. He has also worked with many other theater troupes, from which he has earned several local awards. Charles enjoys singing; especially gospel, spiritual and Broadway. He is also a local playwright. He has had several of this plays produced including, “How Sweet the Sound”, “The Mirror”, “The Kitchen” and “The Heavenly Choir”. He is currently working a new play called “Hush Medicine” that highlights the side effects of prescribed medicine and the unspoken side effects in Black community.
Charles is the owner of his own company, McClinon, LLC.
