Today we will talk about back to school and, for the next few weeks, we will dive into subjects from saving money buying crayons to paying for college tuition.

But first, here are three tips to help your child succeed academically and developmentally (more next week).

1. Make sure your child gets enough rest and sleep. This increases concentration, learning skills and problem solving. It further reduces pimples and facial blemishes.

2. Be involved. Check in with your child’s teacher periodically. To truly stay informed, speak directly to teachers and school staff.

3. Ask your child about their school day and encourage them to talk about it. Open communication keeps you informed, and communicates that you care about your child’s experiences.

The tips are courtesy of Creating Aspiring Personalities for Success (CAPS), a youth development organization created to mentor, guide, and develop strong positive character and personalities in youth ages 11-18 for continued success. CAPSforSuccess.org
