Gritty was born in the Chi back in 1980 and moved to Florida at the age of 5. After that he moved to Huntsville for a few years before jumping around to several cities in TX. Being young and in the hood, the streets pulled him into gang banging at the age of 12. 457 West Side Blood Family to be exact. Gritty calls TX home because that's where he learned to be a man. All of the real men I looked up to showed me how to be a soldier, not just a blood but in real life, too. I've done just about everything you can imagine to get paid but he found steady income when I started cutting hair. In TX, all he did was get in trouble and he just wanted to be an OG. I didn't see a future in rap until he moved back to AL and started making money cutting hair. The money came like drug money. It was fast, tax free and he could be my own boss. That money paid for my studio time and everything I needed to create a buzz for myself. That buzz brought him to Artillery South because of real men recognizing a real man.
