PART 2:

Glendene talks with human trafficking survivor Barbara Amaya about this crime

GUEST: Barbara Amaya, a human trafficking survivor

Barbara Amaya has broken her silence only a few weeks ago, after so many, many years.

She felt called to speak out and she feels that speaking out about being trafficked is part of her healing, just like helping others is.

She is a survivor and she has overcome many obstacles in her life. She was abused and trafficked as a young girl. The fact that she is alive is a miracle – after being abused, shot, stabbed, raped, kidnapped, trafficked, beaten, jailed and more, all before she was 18 years old.

Barbara feels she is alive today so she can share her story with others, and her hope is that her story will help others overcome adversity in their own lives.

Barbara wants listeners to this show to take what they need from her life lessons and use them in their own lives.

Barbara is writing a book called “Girl’s Guide to Survival, Life Lessons from the Street”. She is working with Brooke Warner.
