Ice cream has turned into more than just the cream and flavor. What are the additives and why does it need them? It's not enough to have just the ice cream itself, people love it when "stuff" is in it. You might as well just take ice cream and mix it with candy.
There are some ice creams out there without the additives like carrageenan, gums, stabilizers, processed milk powders or added color. One of them is Greenfield Ice Cream located in upstate New York. The milk comes from 10 local, family-owned farms in the Hudson Valley.
