My husband and I went on a week long vacation out to the west coast which was mostly a business trip with a bit of leisure thrown in. It started off cold which kind of made us anxious, mostly because we weren't prepared for the cold to the bone chill. After we got a little more use to it, we were then off to the warmth of San Diego. We chose the Texas-like route on Highway 5. Long and flat unless you were going through the Angeles Mountain range. Nice, but not a possibility major scenery or not scenery that is known for California. It felt more like when I did my cross- country trip through Texas with my friend John. The beautiful land mass was expansive and long, but we learned to let go of our expectations of what California should look like and just be. Doing that allowed us to experience something you don't often learn on a vacation, a life lesson.
