Young people can have a substantial positive impact on the global energy and climate crisis. Adam Schwartz is an eco-entrepreneur, educator, community organizer, and social justice advocate who believes that educating and empowering youth is key to inspiring community adoption of clean energy. Adam is the Co-founder and President of the Green Guild Biodiesel Cooperative, a non-profit based in Riverdale, MD that produces and uses biodiesel as a teaching tool to educate Washington DC area youth and community members about climate change and the energy crisis. Through the startup of the Green Guild Biodiesel Coop, Adam has developed infrastructure, sustainability demonstrations and built a network of biodiesel users and enthusiasts throughout the DC area. Join Maryland Clean Energy Today as we talk with Adam about how youth education and community-scale renewable energy demonstrations can promote the growth of clean energy solutions throughout Maryland and the nation.
