    UM Students Push Clean Energy

    Joanna Calabrese and Davie Rodner are emblematic of the college-aged clean energy movers and shakers taking action in Maryland and around the country. Their efforts are changing how the massive University of Maryland System does business. They are co-founders of the UM For Clean Energy student group and the UM System Clean Energy Coalition. They have also engaged in lobbying in Annapolis for the Global Warming Solutions Act. Last semester they helped run the Power Vote campaign at UMD, which helped mobilize over 300,000 young people nationwide to pledge their vote for “clean and just energy” in the 2008 elections.
