Evelyn worked in the corporate world for over fifteen years. She was involved in a tractor trailer accident that left her totally bedridden for two years, and jobless. Along with those came foreclosure and the failure of her eighteen years of marriage. Evelyn then turned to God for guidance and realize if she was going to make it, she would have to start her own business.

Avon was a business she could manage from her bed. Then, after having her health restored, Evelyn became the first and only African American Executive in her Avon district in the Philadelphia Area. She has been a top recruiter in Avon for many years, and is also now co-owner of Pastry Divas which she took from having no money, to making over forty thousand dollars in ten months.

After starting D.S.B.G. (Divalyn Small Business Guru) in March 2010, which helps micro-small businesses with little to no money, she became the author of "The Divalyn Pleasure Guide to Marketing Your Micro-Small Business", selling over seven hundred books nationwide in ten months without a single book signing event. The testimonials she receives are phenomenal. She is currently working on her second book to be released by Christmas of 2011.
