This is a bit of a change of pace episode. It's a story about how working out can help save your life. Here's what you need to know about this episode:On August 5, 2014, a long gunman opened fire on a group of about 90 US and British military personnel and civilian contractors, members of the Afghan military, and NATO security personnel at the Marshal Fahim National Defense University on the edge of Kabul.Major General Harold Greene was shot and killed, making him the highest ranking US officer to be killed in battle since the Vietnam war. Approximately 17 others were injured, including Jim McD's younger son’s best friend, US Army Spc. William Hoover.Jim spent several weeks at Walter Reed National Medical Center, helping take care of Will. We told some of this story last year, but we were finally able to have Will come in and give his account of that terrible day and the aftermath of the injuries he sustained. Will's email for other vets to contact him ishusky4vets@gmail.com.Mark Bell hosts with Michael Farr and Jim McDonald. Jim McDonald produced.
