The "Talk" You Need to Have With Your Parents

You can be sure that when you were a child, your parents dreaded the "talk" that they had to have with you.   You know the one.   The roles of parents and children  have now been reversed and adult children need to have an equally embarrassing "talk" with their parents.    The child to parent talk concerns the parents' financial, business and healthcare issues - matters that they believe are none of the child's business!    But it is the child's business because not knowing about the parents' personal affairs puts the child at an immediate disadvantage to help the parents should the need arise.    Today we will discuss some of the issues that an adult child may expect to face when caring for an aging or infirm parent and some ways to get this delicate conversation started now.
