The continuation of Drops of Nectar in this audio show we concentrate on poses that enhance the lunar qualities of body. Chandra Mamaskar moon salutations aids our receptivity to receiving lunar energies as the moon cycles unfold, celebration of the “lunar nature of the Goddess” This yoga practice is associated with the mantra “Aum Chandraya Namah” pronounced: “Om Chan-dra-yay Nama-hay” Mental focus/visualization on Vishuddha-The Throat Chakra. Imagine that your body is tall swaying in the breeze This practice promotes balance, expands the abdominal viscera and promotes digestion. Exercise the arm and shoulder muscles and tones the spine increasing flexibility of the back stimulating the spinal nerves. The audio opens with a short music-backed invocation followed by Chandra Namskar (Moon Salutation) –Chandra Namskar 2 Then guided through Nadi Shodhana Pranayama (purification of the channels) and a seated breathing and visualization exercise Prana Mudra. The guidance of ‘So Hum mantra meditation, preceded by visualization of light, which balances and intergrate the energetic polarities of the body. So –represents Shiva which means ‘pure consciousnesses, ‘hum’ means shakti or ‘creative energy’. The last meditation is “lunar Shavasana” completing the practice with a full-body relaxation. Have ready a meditation cushion or some blankets.
