It’s the first of our monthly off-season PawedCast episodes and Dave Rohe joins me to talk soccer on the show for the first time. Dave and I break down the USMNT’s firing of Jurgen Klinsmann and hiring of Bruce Arena in the midst of World Cup qualifying.

We also discuss Jason Kreis’ trip to visit Atlético Paranaense in Brazil and what he might have learned from City’s Brazilian partner club while in Curitiba. There’s a lot of good that can come from these types of partnerships and it will bear watching to see how they benefit Orlando City.

The Orlando Pride have already made an off-season splash, picking up USWNT defender Ali Krieger for surprisingly little in return. We talk about Tom Sermanni’s new acquisition and how it might affect the Pride in 2017. Orlando City B has made a ton of roster moves and we discuss those as well.

And finally, we give our picks for which surprise players Orlando City might protect and leave unprotected for the upcoming MLS Expansion Draft.

Here’s how the show unfolded:

0:12- Klinsmann is out and Arena is in. Is this a good move? What does it all mean, moving further into World Cup qualifying?

20:07- Jason Kreis visited our new Brazilian partners. What was he up to and how can it help Orlando City?

28:14- The Pride grabbed Ali Krieger from the Washington Spirit. Great move, but what does it mean for the defense and for Josee Belanger?

33:27- Orlando City B cut practically everyone. What’s up with that?

44:35- Surprise picks for who might be protected/unprotected in the Expansion Draft.
