Brendan Doherty of Reckless Challenge joins me again to recap the 2015 USL Championship Final as the Rochester Rhinos defeat LA Galaxy 2 in extra time, Recaping 2016 US Open Cup Qualifying Round 2 on the East & Mid-Atlantic states. NASL Segment with Kartik Krishnaiyer, Red Bulls Hour: Recapping the 4-1 destruction on the Philadelphia Union and clinching top seed in the East for the Playoffs.
It seems like only yesterday we were filling the bowl for Orlando City's inaugural MLS match against fellow expansion side New York City FC. But now we're just a day away from the final home game of this first season in the league against...yep, NYCFC.
We're excited about Friday but also sad to see the season coming to a close. We'll get over that sadness if the Lions can stay in the playoff race for at least one more week.
With no Orlando City match to break down coming off the bye week, we instead shift gears and look back at the USMNT's disappointing 3-2 loss to Mexico in the CONCACAF Cup on Saturday. We discuss Jurgen Klinsmann and Brek Shea's involvement in the Costa Rica friendly. Plus, we look ahead to OCSC's expansion into the USL and NWSL. We should learn more about the USL team today.
And we're joined by Rafa Noboa y Rivera, editor-in-chief over at Hudson River Blue. Raf tells us what's new with NYCFC, talks about their recent upswing, and previews what their lineup will look like. He also gives us his final score prediction for Friday.
And we give you our key match-ups and score predictions as well.
Here's how the show unfolded:
0:26- USMNT talk, what's up with Jurgen Klinsmann and a look at Orlando City's upcoming expansion into the USL and NWSL.
33:04- Raf jumps aboard and tells us what we can expect from the New York City FC match on Friday.
55:56- Our key match-ups for Friday's home finale for Orlando City and our final score predictions.
That's it! We'll see you next week.
Look, you're not happy about Orlando City's recent run of form and neither are we. But we're all in this together and sometimes it just helps to talk it out with your bros. Oh, and sorry about not having a show last week. Schedules just wouldn't align and we were all grumpy anyway.
And so on this week's episode of The Mane Land PawedCast, we talked about Lions' recent run-ins with MLS officiating, the recent skid, the play of Kaká in the midfield, and exactly why "Young Designated Player" does not equal "Designated Player."
Louisville City correspondent Jeff Milby calls in to give us the lowdown on Tuesday night's friendly and agrees with us that Bryan Burke looks like an MLS-caliber right back.
We also look ahead to Saturday's match with the Chicago Fire and give our ridiculously wrong predictions. We're not quite there yet in predicting who will get a red card, but we're close.
Here's how it went down:
0:26- PRO referees, red cards, yellow cards, aggressive play, Kaká's form, young DPs vs. DPs and more!
24:21- Jeff Milby gives us the view from Louisville City, after Tuesday night's 3-1 friendly loss to the USL side.
35:30- We predict what Saturday will bring and we are sure to be wrong, so don't take this information to your bookie.
That'll do it for this week. We'll be back next week to break down Chicago and look forward to the trip to New England.
