"Joel Osteen & The Meteoric Rise of Bubble Gum Gospel"

It is no surprise to me that Joel Osteen has global appeal to the masses of Christians.  Osteen is the poster child for "feel good" religion.  He is the Madison Avenue protoype for "cookie cutter" preachers.  He is unique in that he has become the most famous preacher on the planet without preaching or teaching scripture from the Bible.

He is a master story teller and pontificator.  He is handsome and articulate and rich and non-threatening.  Pastor Joel doesn't preach against SIN or UNHOLY living. You will never hear him take a stand on politics, hunger, sexual perversion, HIV/AIDS, racism, recitivism, etc.

The ONLY time he touches the Bible is at the beginning of his show when he give his "Mickey Mouse Club" pledge to his "Mouseketeers" and they repeat what he tells them to say!

In the famous words of Popeye, "I've had all I can stand and I can't stands no mo'!"  We goin' in on Brother Joel tonite!!
