This is not a discussion for those still damp from the waters of baptism. Nor is it for those who wonder or care when next they will speak in other tongues as God's spirit gives utterance. This is directed toward those who recognize that, for the rest of their lives they will be in the fight of their lives: they have concluded that the man in the mirror is not their ally in spiritual battle; they are relentless in self-examination, instant in prayer, firm in faith, deeply affected but not much moved by trial, test, or victory; they have put off being satisfied until they awake with His likeness. This is for those who have arrived at an interesting stretch of salvation road: with the crowd or alone they overcome sin, but with a familiar few, great struggles begin.
