The Holiday of Shavuot (May 21th-28th)

The Torah Reading cycle is suspended for the holiday of Shavuot aka Harvest aka Pentecost.

Technically, according to the Hebrew Torah, the "Saturday" - the Sabbath day, May 20th (at sundown) marks the end of the 49 days of counting the Omer, and therefore the following day (1st Day called "Sunday") is the "Jubilee" of Shavuot (i.e., "Weeks" or "Pentecost"). Recall that the Torah instructed (Lev. 23:15-16) that we count from the day following Passover (i.e., Nisan 16) for exactly seven weeks, until Sivan 5 (i.e., from April 9th until May 28h this year). On the 50th day (i.e., Sivan 6), a special celebration was to be observed. This annual "countdown period" recalls both the time from the Passover until the revelation at Sinai, and the advent of the Holy Spirit (רוח הקודש) among Rabboni (Our Master) Yeshua's disciples in Jerusalem (Acts 2:1-4). Note: The 49-day plus one Omer (Sheaf of Wheat) Count traditionally is said by some other Jews to begin on the day after the Passover (i.e., Nisan 16).
