Baby Daddy , Sherry Newman-Spenzer on "Lit or Miss"

Seventeen-year-old Deshawn Margray is named in a paternity suit after a brief and reckless sexual encounter at a party.  He is desperate to conceal his plight from his mother, Lillian, a single parent struggling to support herself and her son. Torn between fleeing or facing the nightmarish legal process alone, Deshawn tries to navigate his way through a hostile and incomprehensible system.  Deshawn quickly finds himself labeled a “deadbeat dad” by a brutish governmental agency that confiscates his earnings, his driver’s license, and his bank account.  Deshawn is driven to his breaking point, and a physical confrontation with an insufferable, self-righteous child support caseworker ensues.  The altercation serendipitously leads him to an unexpected discovery that permanently alters his life.
