Let’s say that there is a mother who has a child by a man but they split. The woman has 1 more kid by another man and she splits with him as well. The first man pays his child support and more but the second man is a deadbeat. So the woman starts using the first father’s support check to cover her other child. So when the first father finds out that his child support is not all going to his child; would he be wrong to confront the mother and would the mother be wrong to defend her actions.
Child support orders and the talk of it causes an argument between men and women who don't even have children with each other, find themselves arguing.
Men think that child support shouldn't go toward rent and utilities. It should only go for what a child needs. What does a child need?
Questions for the women? Why did you go get child support on that man if he was taking care of his child? Fellas, why didn't you set up an arrangement to avoid the derangement?
What is child support, REALLY for? Is it just for, clothes, shoes and toys? Should women be required to show in detail what they do with the money?

Carnell Alexander of Detroit, MI. has been ordered to pay $30,000.00 in back pay for a child that is biologically not his. Twenty-seven years ago, an ex-girlfriend of Mr. Alexander put his name on the birth certificate as the father so that she could receive benefits from the state.
Mr. Alexander was served for child support at an address where he didn't reside and received a default judgment against him after he did not show up for court. It was later on found out that Mr. Alexander was incarcerated during the time that he was served.
DNA testing would later prove that Mr. Alexander is not the father, but the State of Michigan says, "Pay the $30,000.00 back pay or go to jail!" Join us tonight as we speak to Mr. Alexander concerning this injustice.

Child support was created as a means for the care and support of children single parents. Many parents have issues with the system, with the absent parent, and even the way society views this plaguing issue. Many may struggle with either paying child support or acting indifferently because they consider it unjustified.
To make matter worst, Section 228 of Title 18, United States Code, makes it illegal for an individual to willfully fail to pay child support in certain circumstances. Accordingly, an individual is subject to federal prosecution if he or she willfully fails to pay child support that has been ordered by a court for a child who lives in another state, or if the payment is past due for longer than 1 year or exceeds the amount of $5,000. A violation of this law is a criminal misdemeanor, and convicted offender face fines and up to 6 months in prison (See 18 U.S.C. § 228 (a) (1)).
If, under the same circumstances, the child support payment is overdue for longer than 2 years, or the amount exceeds $10,000, the violation is a criminal felony, and convicted offenders face fines and up to 2 years in prison (See 18 U.S.C.§ 228(a)(3)).
Lastly, this statute prohibits individuals obligated to pay child support from crossing state lines or fleeing the country with the intent to avoid paying child support that has either been past due for more than 1 year or exceeds $5,000. (See 18 U.S.C. § 228(a)(2)). Any individual convicted of this crime may face up to 2 years in prison.
Notably, other than in the specific circumstances aforementioned, child support enforcement issues are handled by state and local authorities, and not by the federal government. Furthermore, all child support enforcement matters must be addressed at the local or state level before concerns can be raised at the federal level.
In family law and public policy, child support (or child maintenance) is an ongoing, periodic payment made by a parent for the financial benefit of a child following the end of a marriage or other relationship. Child maintenance is paid directly or indirectly by an obligor to an obligee for the care and support of children of a relationship that has been terminated, or in some cases never existed. Often the obligor is a non-custodial parent. The obligee is typically a custodial parent, a caregiver, a guardian, or the state.
Depending on the jurisdiction, a custodial parent may pay child support to a non-custodial parent. Typically one has the same duty to pay child support irrespective of sex, so a mother is required to pay support to a father just as a father must pay a mother. Where there is joint custody, the child is considered to have two custodial parents and no non-custodial parents, and a custodial parent with a higher income (obligor) may be required to pay the other custodial parent (obligee).
The right to child support and the responsibilities of parents to provide such support have been internationally recognized. The 1992 United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child is a binding convention signed by every member nation of the United Nations and formally ratified by all but South Sudan and the United States. It declares that the upbringing and development of children and a standard of living adequate for the children's development is a common responsibility of both parents and a fundamental human right for children, and asserts that the primary responsibility to provide such for the children rests with their parents.Other United Nations documents and decisions related to child support enforcement include the 1956 New York Convention on the Recovery Abroad of Maintenance created under the auspices of the United Nations, which has been ratified by the 64 of the UN member state.

Tonight we'll be discussing Child Support and the laws that surround it. The question we're asking is do you agree with parents being forced to pay child support against their will? Some may argue "Well he or she is the parent so why shouldn't they have to pay?" Well what about the parents who have joined custody and split time down the middle? What about the parents who split custody weekly meaning one gets the child 7 days and the other parent gets the child for the other 7 days but the child has one primary address which would likely be the custodial parent's address? So because that parent is deemed the custodial parent (even though the time is split 14 days a piece in a 28 day span), you think that parent should be awarded Child Support?
Child Support impacts millions of lives in America alone and it's a sensitive topic to some but it has to get addressed here on "It's Real Talk Radio" because there's a lot to be said and since real is what we thrive on, there's no better platform to have this discussion. Callers are welcome for this topic, so don't miss out because we're not holding back any punches!
