When I was in college, I took a class, The African American Religious Experience and the text book used was "Slave Religion, The 'Invisible Instituion' in the Antebellum South by Dr. Albert J. Raboteau.

I was fascinated with the book and have recommended it over the years. Recently, I tracked down Dr. Raboteau and he agreed to be interviewed. I couldn't be more thrilled.

Dr. Raboteau walks us through Slave Religion from the African Diaspora to the resurrection of "The Invisible Institution" that was created during slave times all the way to today's Black Church.

Christians and pagans alike will enjoy this book tremendously that is complete with slave narrative and real life accounts.

I can't wait to CHAT with Dr. Raboteau!
