The Honorable David Walker was born to a free mother and enslaved father in the Cape Fear region of North Carolina. Abolitionist David Walker wrote Walker's Appeal urging Africans that were enslaved to resort to violence when trying to win their freedom. Southern slave owners hated Walker and offered a reward of $10,000 alive and $1,000 dead. Because of Walker Louisiana enacted a bill demanding the expulsion of all freed blacks who settled in the state after 1825. The Walker Appeals relates to our condition today and it's an appeal gone unheard. Willy Lynch letters have nothing on the wisdom of this man and his advice to the Africans then and today some 181 years later.
