About Holly Bakehorn Born and raised in Indiana, Holly Bakehorn's love of music was instilled in her at an early age. She grew up listening to and emulating great artists like Patsy Cline and Cass Elliot of The Mamas &The Papas. It was obvious early on that this young girl had a big voice and was developing it for a career in music. Holly reaffirmed her talent by the many successes in the local and national vocal competitions she entered. In 2000, she signed with an Independent label in Nashville, TN. Although the small label was not able to continue due to financial constraints, she found it to be a wonderful opportunity. Holly has been featured on two of Central Indiana’s leading country radio stations, WWKI and WCJC. In 2002, she received thousands of listener votes for WWKI’s on-air competition Indiana Idol where she was awarded 1st runner up. Holly has also performed in Nashville, TN at The Gibson Showcase and The Trap as part of The Nashville Country Show in 2003. During these performances she was able to sing with world-class musicians who have played for Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire, George Jones, Exile, Dolly Parton and George Strait. In June 2004, Holly was chosen by WKDF radio as 1 of 32 finalists from hundreds of entries for The Colgate Country Music Showdown in Nashville. She again performed at The Trap and received much praise from the radio station and the judges. In May 2005, Holly was once again selected by WKDF radio to perform in The Colgate Country Music Showdown. This time, she was one of only 10 singers chosen and again received much praise for her vocal ability. In summer 2007 Holly joined some of her country singer/songwriters friends on The Back Roads Tour. They performed in Tennessee, Indiana and Missouri. Holly's music is currently being played on radio and internet stations across the country and internationally. As Holly continues to develop her talent, she only grows more comfortable on stage and more at home with
