Jan Aho from Pearl buck center in Eugene Oregon is Jay's guest this week to talk about with the federal government is wanting to do is going to affect millions of handicapped people not only in Lane County but nationwide simply because of abuse of a small percentage of locations.

What I'm talking about is something called sheltered workshops. These are workshops that allow handicapped people to work at their own pace for less than minimum wage.

One of the reasons why the federal government was to shut down the shops is because it has been said that it is slave labor in actuality, with these shops do is allow people to work at their own pace and abilities but more so, allow these people to get out of their homes and have a surrogate family and be with people where they would normally not have the opportunity.

like with any job, it gives them a sense of worth.

remember, Thursday 6 PM Pacific time chat room will be open for questions and you can also send email to talk to KRBNradio.com even after the program if you have questions
