Oregon Update --is your cell phone broadcasting personal information?

plus a tribute to a fallen local police officer, shot while performing his duty.

 

your cell phone --consider this scenario... you're traveling through Michigan and you are pulled over by the police...

 

While you are speaking with the officer, he is copying information from your cell phone to include all history, text messages, contacts and images using a device called CelleBrite UFED all without a search warrant.

 

is this legal?

 

The California Supreme Court says it is.

Eugene Police Officer Chris Kilcullen was shot and killed Friday afternoon  while trying to pull over Cheryl D. Kidd, 57 of Springfield, Oregon.  She was pursued by more than 40 law-enforcement vehicles before coming to a dead end road where after several hours of negotiation she surrendered.

 

We here at KRBN Internet news talk radio are mourning the loss of this 12 year veteran of the Eugene police force.

He is survived by his wife and two children.
