“Recipes For Success:  What Angels Look for When Investing in a Startup Team for Long-Term Success”

 Our show show features John Chavez, who has been the President of the New Mexico Angels since 2008, but has been an active Angel investor since 2003. He is also the Managing Partner and founder of Phase One Ventures, a start-up fund aimed at bio and nanotechnologies and  President of Tafoya and Brainerd Partners LLC, a nationwide business development consulting firm. Prior to his adventures in entrepreneurship, Mr. Chavez was appointed as the Cabinet Secretary of the Taxation and Revenue Department of the State of New Mexico by Governor Gary Johnson. Mr. Chavez served as Cabinet Secretary for six years and as the President of the Federation of Taxation Administrators for one year.
