What Is Discipleship?

What if anything, would you define as the difference between evangelism and discipleship? Sometimes Christians are inclined to equate evangelism - that is , reaching people with the Gospel - with discipleship. However, Scripture teaches that discipleship involves far more than the initial encounter with Christ that begins a person's walk with God. Discipleship is a process by which a person is taught to grow and mature in his or her faith. Spiritual maturity doesn't happen the instant we accept Christ. it takes place over time.
