It’s all about football on this week’s show. Well, a little baseball too, especially as we keep our eyes on the Houston Astros and their push for a postseason bid.  But after a complete week of games around the NFL and a second week of college football contests... it’s game time on the gridiron!

Texas Southern University Football Coach Michael Haywood joins us live to preview Saturday’s home opener with Mississippi Valley State. The Tigers have lost two competitive games and are 0-and-2 to start the season. Coach Haywood talks about what’s gone wrong, what is going right and what we should expect from the Tigers Saturday night?

No. 6 ranked Houston Cougars has won two impressive games to start the 2016 season and face division foe Cincinnati Thursday night. UH Coach Tom Herman talks about the match with Cincinnati and how his team deals with the short week of practice.

The Houston Texans looked… okay in their week one win over the Chicago Bears. Brock Osweiler looked a little tight when the game started, but finished with an 89-passer rating. He was 22 of 35 for 231 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. Rookie receiver Will Fuller caught 5 passes for 107 yards and a 35-yard touchdown. On defense, LB Whitney Mercilus continues to blossom. In fact, he is the AFC Defensive Player of the week. Hear from Texans Head Coach Bill O’Brien, Mercilus and CB Jonathan Joseph.

The Houston Astros beat the Texas Rangers for just the 4th time in 19 games, but it came with a couple of pricey casualties. Jose Altuve and Alex Bregman went out with injuries. Bad timing for a team without much margin for error as they’re playoff chances are on the edge.
