On the Wednesday, November 28th, 2012 broadcast at 1:30PM Pacific/4:30PM Eastern our special guest is Ronald Barkley, MS, JD, President, Cancer Center Business Development Group, and Partner, TRG Healthcare.

Ron recently published a piece titled: The Rapidly Evolving ACO World, which we featured at JustOncology.com.The thrust of the piece centered on the growth of Oncology ACOs or accountable care collaborations like medical homes and value based payment arrangements, in spite of CMS' decision to authorize oncologists as organizers of onology based ACOs.

Of particular note was the significant impact of a managed oncology service/ACO on the projected savings to be generated in the Medicare Shared Savings Program. In fact, if one applies the expected 10% savings threshold to realized if best practices of an oncology medical home where imbued in the ACO. Those savings equaled the total expected to be generated for the entire expected savings from primary care.
