On Saturday, May 11, at their 24 Annual Media Awards in San Francisco, Adam Lambert will receive the Davidson/Valentini Award from the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD).

The award is presented to an out LGBT media professional who has made a significant difference in promoting equality for the LGBT community.

Anyone who knows anything about Adam knows that his heart, soul and efforts are always visibly with those in the LGBT community, especially LGBT youth, and the issues that affect their lives. So why would the Senior Publisher, Norm Kent, of a gay community newspaper write an opinion piece that says Adam doesn’t deserve this award?

Join us and our guests Editor-in-Chief Gideon Grudo and Associate Publisher Jason Parsley of the South Florida Gay News (SFGN), who are currently engaged in a difference of opinion with their Senior Publisher.

Jason is the man who interviewed Adam prior to his being given the Key to the City of Miami during the recent Florida Pride Festival. Gideon is the author of the SFGN editorial rebuttal to Mr. Kent.

Gideon and Jason, who strongly support GLAAD’s selection of Adam as the recipient of this year’s award, will talk with co-hosts Xena and Thea about how the issue arose and the aftermath of Jason’s interview, the Senior Publisher’s piece and Gideon’s rebuttal.

Join us for what promises to be a stimulating look into the world of gay journalism and its view of gay activism.
