The current meaning of the term "Church" is completely different from that which Paul and the apostles actually had in mind when using it to evangelize the people. Let's talk about it.

but ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,
to the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,
and to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel. Hebrews 12:22-24

O significado actual do termo "Igreja" é completamente distinto daquele que Paulo e os apóstolos realmente tinham em mente ao usá-lo para evangelizar os povos. Vamos falar sobre isso.

Mas tendes chegado ao Monte Sião, e à cidade do Deus vivo, à Jerusalém celestial, a miríades de anjos;
à universal assembléia e igreja dos primogênitos inscritos nos céus, e a Deus, o juiz de todos, e aos espíritos dos justos aperfeiçoados;
e a Jesus, o mediador de um novo pacto, e ao sangue da aspersão, que fala melhor do que o de Abel. Hebreus 12:22-24
