(For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, {that they are} the enemies of the cross of Christ:
Whose end {is} destruction, whose God {is their} belly, and {whose} glory {is} in their shame, who mind earthly things.)
For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: {conversation...: or, we live or conduct ourselves as citizens of heaven, or, for obtaining heaven}
Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

Porque muitos há, dos quais muitas vezes vos disse, e agora também digo, chorando, que são inimigos da cruz de Cristo,
Cujo fim é a perdição; cujo Deus é o ventre, e cuja glória é para confusão deles, que só pensam nas coisas terrenas.
Mas a nossa cidade está nos céus, de onde também esperamos o Salvador, o Senhor Jesus Cristo,
Que transformará o nosso corpo abatido, para ser conforme o seu corpo glorioso, segundo o seu eficaz poder de sujeitar também a si todas as coisas.
