Antipsychotic Prescriptions for Children (UPDATE for 2011)

In December 2009 I wrote the following article based on the alarming disclosure in a New York Times article that the prescribing of anti-psychotic drugs to children between the ages of 3 and 17 had dramatically increased. At that time I was unaware of the documentary The Drugging of Our Children by Gary Null (see trailer below).

Based on the additional information provided through this shocking account of how medicating our children has taken the place of responsible and involved parenting, I felt that an updated reprint was more than warranted.

In this evening's program a guest panel of experts will join me to talk about adolescent mental health and whether we are medicating instead of parenting our children.
