People treat the Bible like a road map they apply what they read to experiences they have had...instead of freshness of things to be.  

God makes us new so we can have new experiences....Not the same O' same O'.   If you do the same old stuff you don't need a map.  Every truth of the Scriptures is a purposeful truth from God.... Not a history story; but a personal touch for your heart and mind.
