Movement is a healthy part of everyone's life, but for those with autism, Movement Therapy can have profound effects.

Joanne Lara has dedicated her life’s work to improving the lives of individuals with autism through movement and music. She’s also a core adjunct professor at National University in LA, California, and helped design the Autism Certificate. Her advocacy has led to founding the nonprofit organization Autism Movement Therapy®, the recipient of three Autism Speaks grants, home based in Los Angeles, California.

Joanne is also a member of Hillary Clinton’s Disability Employment Task Force Team. She’s the author of “Autism Movement Therapy Method: Waking Up the Brain!” with Keri Bowers. Autism Movement Therapy trains and licenses dancers, educators, parents, service providers and professionals globally in the beneficial role that movement and dance have for individuals on the autism spectrum.

Join Dr Jo Anne White, author and host of Power Your Life, as she chats with Joanne Lara about autism, Movement Therapy, and how the future is changing for those with autism.
