WE WILL WELCOME AN ESTEEMED GUEST TO THE COUNCIL TONIGHT JOINING US TO DISCUSS THE IMMIGRATION LAWS INFLICTED ON MEXICANS Sundiata Xián Tellem HHP Former President: United Nations Association-USA Dallas Former Chairman: Green Party of the United States National Black Caucus Former Chairman: Green Party of Dallas County American political leader, human rights activist, and author. Tellem served as the chairman of the Green Party of Dallas County from 2003 – 2004, becoming the party’s first African-American chairman. Prior to Mr. Tellem’s term as GPD chairman, the Democratic, Libertarian, and Republican Dallas County parties had not elected an African-American chairman; county-wide for leadership, thus making Mr.Tellem not only his party’s first but a first in organized political parties in Dallas County. During the 2004 Green Party of Texas state convention Tellem was nominated for the office of state chairman. He withdrew his name stating that he was nominated for the national leadership of the Green party’s newly formed black caucus. Tellem was elected the Green Party black caucus co-chairman in 2004 becoming the caucus’ first chairman While serving as the Green Party’s black caucus chairman, Mr.Tellem frequently spoke out against injustice, sexism, racism, and human rights violations. He wrote many letters to heads of state concerning human rights issues and he encouraged others to do so through his letter writing campaigns featured on the caucus’ website. Mr.Tellem in 2007 joined The United Nations Association-USA (the largest foreign policy association in the United States) of Dallas Chapter, and later, in 2009 became President. Mr.Tellem received a Bachelor of Science degree from the American Institute of Holistic Theology, and later became board certified as a Holistic Health Practitioner in the state of Texas. Mr. Tellem also studied Psychology- (California Coast University).
